FOSSILS

Fossils are the remains of creatures and plants that lived millions of years ago. Only the most durable parts usually survive such as bones, teeth and shells, although imprints, leaves and even poop can survive in the right circumstances. Fossils are usually formed when mud or sand is compacted over many years turning the remains into stone.
